Mark Maier to Support Jenny Eclair on Tour
Acclaimed writer, comic and improviser Mark Maier, is to support Perrier Award-winning comedienne and broadcaster Jenny Eclair on her forthcoming and highly anticipated ‘Because I Forgot to Get a Pension’ tour throughout May (tickets and tour dates http://www.jennyeclair.com/tour-dates.php.) Mark has recently returned from a successful run at the ‘Altitude Comedy Festival’ staged in the luxury Alpine resort of Méribel, and currently has a comedy drama in development with BBCR4.
Ian Stone on the radio
Ian Stone can be seen at The Drill Hall on May 27th as part of BBCR4 show ‘Political Animal’, he also recently completed his fourteenth appearance on ‘Fighting Talk’ ,BBCR 5. In addition Ian is currently developing his new Edinburgh show ‘Where’s The Down?’ which will be performed at The Cavern in the Pleasance Courtyard during August.
Tom Craine to Present BBC Radio Wales Show
Comedian, writer and presenter Tom Craine is to present the ‘Rhod Gilbert Show’ on BBC Radio Wales on Saturday May 3rd (11.00-13.00). Tom was also recently a featured guest on the Richard Lewis Show, BBC Radio Bristol. A previous winner of 'Best Comedy & Drama' at the BBC National Student Radio Awards, Tom also has several television and radio ideas currently in development
Bob Mills - BBC Radio 5 ‘Fighting Talk’ Favourite
BBC Radio 5 ‘Fighting Talk’ regular Bob Mills, is due to appear on two upcoming programmes, April 26th and May 17th - the latter being the last show in the present series and coinciding with the FA Cup Final. In addition Bob continues to work on a number of high-profile writing projects and remains a much sought after performer on both the live circuit, and for corporate engagements
Inder Manocha to appear in ‘Pulling’, BBC3
Inder Manocha will be appearing in the new series of BBC comedy ‘Pulling’, due to begin broadcast on March 23rd at 9.30pm. Recently Inder also appeared alongside Richard E Grant in feature film ‘Filth and Wisdom’, directed by Madonna. The film follows the struggle of three individuals in search of their ambitions. Inder plays ‘Sardeep’, a love-sick pharamacist.
Mirth Control Acts Head to Edinburgh
Tom Craine and Paddy Lennox will form part of the prestigious ‘AAA Comedy’ mixed-bill show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August this year. AAA Comedy features a trio of comedians (the third being Maff Brown), and runs nightly at the Pleasance Courtyard. Other Mirth Control acts performing in Edinburgh this year include Zoe Lyons, who was nominated for the If.Comedy ‘Best Newcomer’ award in 2007 for her debut show ‘Fight or Flight’, and Ian Stone.
Geoff Norcott presents new TV comedy sports show
Comedian & writer Geoff Norcott is currently anchoring new topical sports show ‘Shed Sports’ on Nuts TV (SKY channel 207/Freeview channel 42). The show is rapidly gaining a cult following since it first aired in mid September last year. Geoff is also a commissioned writer at Nuts TV and has presented other shows for the channel.
