Dougie Dunlop
"All the composure of a Tiger Woods' putt" The Scotsman

Highly talented observational comic, Dougie Dunlop, effortlessly gets audiences laughing and sharing his unique take on life.

Dougie started his comedy career at the "The Stand" in hometown Edinburgh, and made his fringe debut in 2000 as part of the "The Midnight Show" in the Gilded Balloon. For Fringe 2003, he headlined the prestigious Big Value comedy package show at the Café Royal and in 2007 he had great success with his first solo Edinburgh Fringe show:

“rye, gritty..masterful flashes of mimicry” The List 2007

“the Ronseal of stand-up comedians” Chortle 2007

Dougie plays all the major comedy venues in the UK and overseas and his relaxed style and widespread appeal means he’s popular with corporate bookers too. Dougie worked as a Chef for several years in Edinburgh before finding his true vacation as a comic. Cooking, however, remains a passion and he’s also a pretty mean drummer.

“Dougie has a rare ability to tell jokes about ordinary things and be hilarious!” Edinburgh Evening News

Dougie has supported many high profile comics on tour, including Rory Bremner, Dylan Moran, Sean Hughes and Ardal O’Hanlon.

Dougie’s comedic talents also include writing and acting. He wrote and played the part of an eccentric vet in Scottish art house film, Auchter-Nae-Where released in May 2004. Other TV includes ‘Confessions of a Chef’ ITV1, The Live Floor Show (BBC Scotland) & The Bill (BBC 1).
