Stan Stanleys high spirited and prankish debut solo show Collywobbles is the flagship of the Free Fringe, having been singled out by Underbelly Venues for a coveted slot. In it he will be celebrating lifes awkward moments and will exploit his personal discomfort for the sake of making us laugh. Stan has previously performed in the prestigious 'Britcom Show' at the Montreal Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and was runner up in the Daily Telegraph Open Mike Award 2002. Venue:
Smirnoff Underbelly - Belly Dancer
In her debut hour-long show, Zoe will tackle fear head on. From wrestling snakes in Borneo, to throwing herself out of a plane at 2000 feet with a parachute that was far too small . lying about her weight for fear of seeming a porker .and finally having the guts to hang up her waitress apron and embarking on a career in stand up comedy. In 2004, Zoe won the 'Babycham Funny Women' and reached the finals of 'Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny'. She has since been in great demand on the circuit and made numerous television and radio appearances. Venue:
Pleasance Courtyard - Cellar
Following his successful run at the Underbelly last year, Ian Stone returns with a new show, Healthy Disrespect. In the topical and disparaging style that has become Ians trade mark, his new show contains dispute, dissent, disaffection, dismay, disdain, disobedience, disreputable behaviour and of course, healthy disrespect.
Ian is a regular on Mock the Week, BBC2, Fighting talk, BBCR5, and a well-established circuit favourite.
Venue:
Smirnoff Underbelly - Belly Laugh
In 2007 comedian (and former chef) Dougie, returns to his native hometown of Edinburgh with his debut solo stand-up show.
This hour of no frills stand-up really hits the mark. From the absurd habits of elderly relatives, to the inadequacies of JD Sports staff and the resurrection of the Battenberg cake - this is everyday humour at its best.
Dougie is a highly respected performer on both the national and international comedy circuit Venue:
C Soco Urban Garden, 233 Cowgate. Venue 266
Mickey D returns to Edinburgh in 2007, with the critically acclaimed show Shame 101 which won him Best Comedy award at the Adelaide International Comedy Festival this year. Shame 101 is a breakneck departure from the highbrow, a refreshing ride of pure fun - liberating, cheeky, honest and real. No power-point, no gimmicks Edinburgh 2007 will see Mickey D complete the grand slam of international festivals - Adelaide, Melbourne, Auckland, Montreal and now his 7th Edinburgh festival Venue:
